This Month I...

Created >200 pages of coursework

The uni grind got REAL, hence the lack of updates. I was doing 09:00-21:00 days pretty much every day of the week, and got a serious amount of work done.

Across all of my projects, I submitted 508 pages of work! We’ll find out by next week how well I’ve done.

Created my entire Anima project

Remember that festival project that was merely just a name and bubble? Well I fleshed that out massively. I’ll include some pics below, but you can view the finished thing here.

Finished University

As you’ve probably guessed, I completed my course on the 17th May, we went out with a school celebration in the sun… lovely.

I pieced together my degree show space and it’s looking pretty sweet, you’ll get to see that next week!

After 2 weeks of rest, I’m now feeling totally lost. I can’t believe I miss the feeling of constant stress, I need to decide what to do with my time now that gives me a sense of purpose.

Handed off Beyond The Grey

My time in charge of Beyond The Grey is officially over, having completed my final two articles this week. Elizabeth and I are both moving down to Edinburgh, so we’ve got the new team underway – Louis, Chrissy, Julie, and Margaret.

I’ve had a peak at the new design and it’s looking sweet! Launching at Degree Show opening on 7th June.

Started writing a new song

I’ve been really into my 70s folk lately, especially Joni Mitchell. Inspired, I’ve created a wee acoustic piece with lots of influences, and probably my best lyrics to date.

To top it off the song switches between 3/4 and 5/4 time which is something I’ve been desperate to do for ages. I LOVE 5/4.

Sent off some job applications

I’m guessing this’ll be the new normal for a while. I’ve spent hours over the last few weeks job hunting. God it’s hard to find entry-level positions. Already faced a few rejections but hey ho, gotta keep pushing forward.

Visited the DJCAD Degree Show

I took a trip down to Dundee with some other students on my course to see their Degree Show. Graphic design was a little disappointing, for some reason the entire class was made to do the same briefs. Illustration on the other hand was brilliant, as was quite a lot of Fine Art, which typically goes over my head.

I forgot to take pictures oopsies.
